Giggs Fitness
Ryan Giggs Fitness DVD: Strength & Conditioning Inspired by Yoga
Developed by Sarah Ramsden with Ryan Giggs, Giggs Fitness takes you into one of Giggs’ personal age-defying training sessions.
Inspired by yoga, this is Giggs’ personal training programme to build his strength, flexibility, balance and core. It is a whole body work-out that kept Giggs sharp, supple and strong.
From his mid-twenties Giggs was missing 10 or 12 games per season due to problems he was getting with his hamstrings and lower back. The programme was designed to build flexibility, core, balance and whole-body strength. It worked. He stopped missing training sessions, stopped missing games
And he remained a key Manchester United player until the age of 39.
"People are always coming up and saying ‘How are you still playing at 37? How are you still playing for United?’ and I say that one of the main reasons is the yoga, keeping me as strong and flexible as possible."
Ryan Giggs, Manchester United, 1990/91 to 2013
Hear Ryan Giggs talking about how yoga has prolonged his career and see him in action on Giggs Fitness
And watch him again on his autobiography DVD True Red
"The yoga has definitely helped me. It helps me train every day because it gives me the flexibility and the strength not only to play the game but to train as well."
Ryan Giggs, Manchester United, 1990/91 to 2013
'I’m a complete convert to this way of training and the benefits to my career have been huge.'
Ryan Giggs, Manchester United, 1990/91 to 2013

The stretches and workouts on this DVD have had a tremendous positive effect on my 5 a side form. It's a must have if you are recovering from an injury.

As a 51 year old male triathlete I've never been particularly "bendy" but after a back problem thought I ought to spend a bit of time on this. The workouts are clear and well instructed. I had good core stability to start with but this is helping me to improve further. It's nice sometimes to have someone to tell you what to do so you can pick from warm-up, core, stretch and cool down to suit your time.

This DVD is not yoga as alot of the other reviews state, it's loosely based on yoga but is more concentrated on the types of stretches that a male gymnast would perform, don't be fooled thinking this is yoga, this workout is very hard work when done correctly, i don't recomend it for people who are generally unfit as they would not be able to keep up with the instructions and do alot of the stretches especially from the abdominal/core section.
Overall this dvd is excellent and i'm already feeling the results after 1 week, you will feel muscles you really didn't know you had, i'm in this for the longhaul and have no doubt that DVD has started an obsession with this style of fitness programme

I dream that Ryan Giggs will do for yoga what Wayne Rooney did for hair transplants.
